i found beechams cold and flu capsules excellent for me but everyone is different
day-quil and night-quil and you'll be fine

Acetaminophen for pain symptoms
Guaifenesin for non productive cough
Diphenhydramine is the antihistamine (for runny nose)
don't get an over-the counter medicine get honey and lemon and mix them together. It may taste bad but it helps so much!
