Does a lip piercing affect your teeth?!
Question: I am thinking about getting my lip pierced in the center with a ring, and I wanted to know if it affects the enamel on your teeth. Thanks!

A big DON'T . I know 3 people who thought it was great but got all kinds of problems: broken teeth, the pain is horrible, your tongue just isn't the same anymore, some foods taste bad (the rest of your life), numbness, soreness that never goes away (think of a constant headache the rest of your life in your mouth). Not good. Why do it? Do your ear lobes and that's it. Have a Nice Day!

It can. Besides the wear on your front teeth because of the metal rubbing against them, you also have the chance to break off your front teeth if you receive a blow to the mouth.

Think hard. A metal object striking or rubbing against the enamel on your teeth every time you move your mouth .. what do you YOU think will happen? Maybe an eyebrow would be better?
Of course, if your appliance (jewelry?) is going to be of something kinder to teeth .. say surgical grade teflon . go for it.

What rubbish! (just so that the fucking spellcheck won't put stars instead of the word!) ..Yes, lip rings can cause some tooth damage and receding of the gums, but if you don't play around with it too much, then I think you don't have to worry about it and go ahead and do it, especially if you're not planning to have it in for a long time. Also, you don't have to have the BCR (ring) in there all the time, you can switch it to the one with a flat end from time to time.
