These seem crazy, BUT..
Put a stool in the bathroom that he can rest his feet on while sitting on the toilet.
Place a trashcan beside the chair/bed that he can reach.
Get him a tray that attaches to his wheelchair so he can be somewhat mobile and get his own food/drinks when he's ready to do so.
Set up a PS2 for him to play!
