Is going to an allergy doctor worth it? Can they help you feel better? Do the te!

If your allergies are predictable, say they come in the spring but go away in the summer or come in the fall but go away in the winter, you should just go and buy some over the counter allergy medicine. Alavert, Claritin, or the Walmart brand all have the same ingredient. If you are miserable all year round then go see an allergist. The test doesn't hurt (it will itch like crazy though). More than likely you will be allergic to all sorts of stuff, but remember these guys are putting concentrated extracts on you so don't get to freaked out since your body will never run into that concentration of allergen again. But after the testing they will be able to set you up with a prescription, a steroidal nasal spray works really well, that is suited to your allergies, smoke, air quality, pet dander, pollen, etc. Good luck.
