suicidal thoughts.?!

Question: look i would never do it, but sometimes i get really depressed. the only thing that's stopping me is God in heaven (i am a christian) and i would hate causing myself pain
Answers:
wow I feel so connected to you right now cause i feel exactly the same way. When i find myself in a situation where suicide becomes an option I always think about the people around me, how everyone goes through bad times (and probably worse than those I'm going through) and ask God for comfort and help.and he always answers. ;)

Other Answers:
usually suicidal behavior comes from a chemical inbalance in the brain. medication will block them
Talk to your pastor or good Christian friend, join a Bible study too, to keep you eyes focused on God's Word
I think that's more normal than you might think. Many people fantasize about death, even those who aren't considered "depressed." Death is the greatest unknown and we tend to wonder about the unknown.

Talk your depression out with someone though. It's good that you have somewhere (God) to turn to, but remember that if you ever do get to that point where the edge looks good, there are always other alternatives.
Ask people why it is a good idea to stay alive.

You will need to tell people why you don't think it is though. They may tell you ways to change the problems you have.
another thing to think about besides God is taht there WILL be times in the future when you will be just SO HAPPY to be alive and I PROMISE YOU THIS!
I too thought about suicide when I was young and very depressed and thank GOD I did not do it because I would have missed so much pleasure and joy.
I find joy now in simple things and love life.
Also try getting your thyroid gland checked to see if it is underactive. I had that for about 15 years before they found it and when I got on thyroid hormine my depression went away.
Depending on your age I think that you are between 16 - 19 if I am wrong I am only guessing. But I think we all go through a bit of depression in our life it is only natural to feel down every so often. I am glad to hear you would never do it maybe in these really low times you say a little prayer or go for a walk or do some deep breathing that really helps me. i myself have had suicidal thoughts in the same way as you not that I would do it just that sometime life seems really hard. I hope if helped
when u feel like this, hook to the net and chat with strangers, should be good friends like me. you can feel better.
Dont just think about GOD think about how you doing that would affect the peopl ewho love you. Alot of people feel like that but is it really worth it. Things change in life all of the time and your mood and feelings change as well.
Well, its not uncommon for people to think about suicide when they feel depressed. Its also not uncommon for people to feel depressed occasionally.

If you are seriously depressed a lot, then I think you need to talk to a therapist and see if you can get some treatment. Depression is a very treatable problem. Talk to your doctor or your school counselor. You can also call your local crisis hotline if you need to talk to somebody. There are also national hotlines to talk to someone when you need to:

National Crisis Center: 1-800-273-8255

Boystown and Girlstown hotline: 1-800-448-3000

When you feel depressed talk to others. The worst thing you can do is to keep it to yourself. Talk to your parents, friends, school counselor, your minister, or others.

Faith is a good thing, and it can really help you get through the tough times. That is often what prayer does, it gives you the strength to go through painful times.

Hang in there!
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3

My Cry to God

God, allow me to love all of my selves, all the parts of me I don’t know.
All of the parts of me I don’t accept or love at this moment.
For they are me, they are all me, whether they are shadow or light.
I want to accept them and forgive, for in forgiving, I wash away pain,
Start anew, without remorse, knowing you’ve forgotten what they did.
Let my past offenses stay in the past; allow me to look forward, not back.
Help me to help myself to stop drowning in self pity and judgment.
Allow me to accept myself with all of my faults and flaws.
Help me to realize it is easier to judge and mistrust than to love.
For if I love myself, commitment, freedom and dreams are possible.
Help me to open the windows to my soul so that I can see beauty.
A new life, a new chapter, a new book;
Allow all of the pages in my book to be sacred, loving and satisfying.
Chase away the ghosts of the past, the voices within, taunting me,
They don’t belong, keeping my soul from returning from the darkness.
Strip the demons that wait in the night of their abilities,
Help me not to withdraw into a place where my vulnerability exists.
Do not allow loneliness and sorrow to consume my every waking moment.
I don’t want to simply exist and endure each day, afraid of the others,
Embrace me in your arms and give me sweet, sweet peace.
Allow me to sleep one night without fear, dread and chains on my soul.
Everything is drained and I feel so empty, so I curl up like a child,
In the fetal position, for protection, from you O God.
I feel so empty inside; but others within me abide,
So take them away Lord, help me to love, live and just be again.

Take all of your thoughts, prayers and pain and write them down in a journal daily. Give them to God and allow Him to help you get through this. Remember, whatever you are going through will get better. It will not always be this great of pain. I'm living proof. I will pray for you.

Sometimes we are blessed with this by inheritance; bypolar, etc. It is a battle everyday! The best thing to do is, don't allow yourself to get depressed. When you feel like you are, go outside and sit in a chair with a nice glass on tea. Sounds silly but the sunlight improves and kills the depression feeling. The worst thing to do is feed the depression by sleeping late, eating alot, etc. Try a new hobby, even if it's something that you don't think you will like. I have this problem and it has been a battle ever since I can remember. Try talking with others, I like to chat and come here so that it is more anonymous! make some friends via messenger, that way, you can keep your mind off of it. If none of the above works, try some medication prescribed by a doctor, but be very careful, because you become dependant on these medications once you start taking them and they may make you feel worse. I use this alot; I always think of my friends situation and think of how my life could be worse. I'm not saying she has it worse but some things could be worse! Good luck and conquer that problem all together!
I totally relate, i used to say that if suicide wasn't a sin, then I'd do it, but hey, I was in a lot of pain cuz of an illness and had severe depression; I asked for professional help because sometimes burdens are too heavy for us and we need someone to help us carry them. You mentioned you're a christian, so, I suggest you to get closer to God in any way, by going to church, reading the Bible, praying, and try to find God's love around you; think that if we're not well, there's someone behind us who is 100 times worse and we should be thankful for what we have. In depression, there's almost always a cause for it, and when we discover it, it's easier to attack it, so, whatever's bothering you, be strong, positive, and remember the sun always comes out again after the rain. Good luck :)
. years ago i buried 1 of my children , lost a 1/4 million dollar a year business, ent up living in my van.....
then i started writeing music, it reflected my feelings, thing i saw and my views of the world, oh, one more thing, i passed up a record deal with holiday records, anyway, one of my songs is called (different view) it starts off asking if you got a problem, think your niebor better off than you,.
well , you don't know what he see's in the mirror..
point being everybody has a different view of how bad thier own life is but, take a good look around and you'll find some people , homeless but happy, rich but miserible, in pain
but grateful or comfortable but unsattisfied..
it took years to understand some of my downfalls, but all have changed or redirected the path of my life and i could not imagane where i'de be without some of the bad thing to give me the greatest respect of some of the smallest good things..
