My mother and her mother used this technique when they were growing up. It seemingly worked for them..I tried it and it worked for me - but it is very messy. I used Nivea face cream, a little noxema and lots of safron and made a paste which i applied as a mask. And let it sit for a while - then I rubbed what i could off (helped exfoliate) and washed the rest off. Do it over a sink - like I said it's really messy.
