But most importantly, don't ever go below what you should weigh in at. Malnutrition, or anirexia is not good at all! If you weigh at about average, I'd say loss about 5-10 pounds, and keep a good steady rate. Don't eat chocolate over what you should.
If someone died on the South Beach Diet, they weren't doing the South Beach Diet. There have been some deaths associated with Atkins Diet because it is a very high protein diet and that can cause problems with the heart. South Beach is not an extreme diet at all, but rather follows a healthy plan. My cardiologist put me on that diet and I lost 28 pounds. That would be the diet I would recommend, along with exercise. You need a healthy diet to keep your strenght up in a very busy time. Don't try to lose too fast. You don't want to be sick for your wedding.

Another healthy diet is Weight Watchers. These are not extremely fast diets, although my weight with South Beach came off at a steady pace. Excercise will increase the weight loss in a shorter time. But if you are looking for something healthy that will be more likely to stay off, these are good choices.

Mainly, stay away from potatoes, bread, sweets. Some carbs are ok, but stick to the complex carbohydrates. Eat a lot of salads, low fat meats are ok (but so is a vegetarian diet), stir frys with a little meat and lots of veggies in about 2 tablespoons of olive oil are good Another diet that is supposed to be healthy is a Mediteranian diet.

Stay away from the diet pills and fad diets. And be sure that you are being realistic about your weight. If you are in good shape and healthy, that's what's important.
