It's actually acquired. I did a research paper on it.
Scientists at first thought you had to have something on Xq38 (a marker on the X chromosome for it). Well, they only found it in 7% of men related to a homosexual. If they are going to prove anything, they would have to make the experiment include heterosexual males (since they were never tested as a control group) and women (both heterosexual and homosexual.)
But as of now, there isn't much backing the theory that people are born with it.

I think its both. You are born to want sex, but everyone has an acquired taste for it.
As of right now, psychologists are not sure. Everyone's pretty much split on this topic, so it's debatable. There was a doctor some years ago that suggested that homosexuals were born gay, because the tissue of the brains in some gay men he had dissected had been abnormal. Later however it was found to be a flawed experiment as all of the men he whose bodies he had used had died of complications of AIDS. So the debate still rages on. I haven't done enough research myself to give you an accurate opinion, so I won't shoot my mouth off without proof.

I believe you are definatly born with it, because when you ask a gay person they will usually tell you that they have had those feelings as long as they can remember, and if it was acquired why would some have straight siblings that were raised together?

Punt. My guess is there is stronger proof for both, but that it hasn't been researched. We, as a society, don't really think about the topic because it's culturally uncomfortable. So we bounce around on unfounded assumptions.
Strong case for biology:
* If some boys, born outside of any cultural learning, expressed homosexual tendencies. Some argue it would actually be bisexual because somewhere we supposedly lost the coding for sexual behavior inherited by most other animals.
* In some males, there is apparently a born appreciation of anal sex while others do not enjoy it. Given some physical differences out there, could it be that there are some nerve tissue in homosexual men where many other men might have it? Where is the proof that this is the case?
For acquired:
* Raped sons tend to rape their sons. Is this sexual behavior or simply abusive behavior?
* Genetically, in terms of survival of a species, homosexuality makes no sense. However, are there not constantly variations of each generation that must die off as a result of natural selection? Are gay kids born from gay parents?
* If Skinner can teach a pidgeon to attack people, can people be taught to enjoy one form of sexuality over another? Where's the evidence?
The primary problem with your question is that any such research immediately runs into ethics and funding issues. Who conducts these studies? Impartial scientists or people with a political axe to grind?
It would be a nice thing to sort out, but I doubt we will know for sure any time soon.
