How can a teacher not give a slow learning student the time of day?!

Question: Teachers didn't want to teach me just because I couldn't learn as fast as others. Well, I don't chose to have a disability. A kid needs an education, but no one told these unethical people to become teachers. If they had a hanidicapped kid they'd want a patient teacher for him/her, so what's the deal? What if these heartless people were to one day get in a car accident and all of a sudden get a disability? I'd love to see how they'd handle it.
Answers:
You actually might possibly have a learning disorder if you are very noticably slower than the average student
