What are abnormal inverted T waves?!

Question: I have had 3 ekg's that had my T waves flipped. I don't know what that means. I've been told that it's ok, just some enlargement on one side of my heart. Can someone explain what inverted T waves mean?
Answers:
Inverted T waves on EKGs can be due to a lot of reasons - ischemia is only one of them. The EKG has to be looked at in totality. Other causes could be enlargement of one side of your heart as you have been told (probably left ventricular hypertrophy), blood electrolyte disturbances (e.g. low potassium level), and so on.

Other Answers:
Without knowing what the rest of your ekg looks like that can be difficult to say. I am also assuming, that you have had a cardiologist read these ekg's. Typically inverted T waves indicate that there has been ischemia (heart cells with out oxygen), which may indicate a MI. The inversion of the t wave means that the electrical conduit through your heart has been rerouted or changed. If you have not consulted a cardiologist please do so.
