how old do you start taking a baby to the dentist?!

It depends on the personality of the child. If the child is very clingy to the parent or shy, I recommend 4 years old. If they aren't shy, go ahead & try them at 3. Don't push the child to do too much at the first couple of visits, going to the dentist is FUN! If you make it seem like a scary place, the child will develop fears over nothing! I've worked on children as young as 3, doing fillings & such, & they love coming to see us because we make it fun for them. I ALWAYS recommend that after the first visit or two, let the child go in the room by themselves. Children have a tendecy to act up more if a parent is there with them. Good luck

I would check after they loose there first tooth to make sure they don't have any ingrown teeth. or to make sure they don't grow in any other way besides down or up.
Six months. Even if no teeth have erupted, the dentist can do a preliminary exam and point out any potential future problems. The "exam" for a six-month-old is not terribly complicated at all! The dentist basically just looks in the mouth, but I'd recommend it. I have three kids, and no one has ever had a cavity because they've had good preventitive care.

Many dentists recommend six months as a starting point. The problem is that the longer you wait, the worse any problems can get. Age 4 or 5 really is waiting too long -- ask your dentist.
Most dentist don't start seeing children until around age 3 unless you notice a visual problem before hand.
ask your dentist, my doctor recommended having them seen at around 6 monthes when their first teeth started to appear but I couldn't find a dentist that would see them so unfortunatley it depends on your insurance. Most will see them at about age 4-5 depending on the maturity of the child. If you see signs of decay that find a specialist but you may end up paying out of pocket for it.
I THINK ITS 5YEARS WELL THAT IS WHAT MY DENTIST SAID TO MY MOM.
I work at a dental office. They recommend around 3-4. Some children have difficulty handling it even then though.
