Thinning hair is genetic. You really can't do anything about it.
Also, frequest hair cuts aren't going to help the hair grow thicker, since hair grows from the root, not the ends. Cutting the ends will do nothing.

I don't know how much thinning you are experiencing but I've been using Nioxin. Not only is it a good hair care product but I believe it is helping with my thinning hair. It's no miracle worker and I didn't notice immediate changes but may be worth trying.
