Try different kinds of conditioner, one might work for your type of hair. Good luck
eat healthy foods!
vitamin e is good for the hair
it is moisturizing
and vitamin a
is good for the scalp
and healthy hair growth
protein makes ur hair grow faster than anything else because
hair is basically made of protein
so
eat eggs.. and dairy products
yogurt, milk, soymilk, and tofu are great examples
citrus fruits are also good for the hair.. and seaweed has a lot of vitamin a. vitamin a can be found in leafy veggies and carrots, especially. it is important to drink enough water to keep ur hair hydrated. 8-10 glasses is suggested for healthy hair growth. also, iron plays an important role in maintaining and growing healthy hair. iron brings oxygen to the hair, allowing it to breathe like us basically
(not the same way obviously)
and so if u dont take enough iron.. ur hair will be starved of oxygen and lose its shine, luster, etc.
b vitamins are also great for the hair. salmon, coldwater fish, and sardines are great fish that contain many of the vitamins hair needs.
i hope this information helped you!

maybe some conditioner for dry hair.
it needs to have conditioning treatments. you can either get these done at a salon (I would recommend going to a salon for the first one to have them show you how to do it properly) or use a very thick moisturizing conditioner after you shampoo coat your hair in it, and keep it on your hair under a bag or plastic wrap for about 1/2 hour. Do this about once or twice a week, and it will be back in shape in no time.
i have highlights and the only way to get ur hair smooth is to stop highlighting it use moose and conditionator and do not use any hot hair products.
Some brands of dye have this new gloss thingie.I think Clariol has one called Shine Happy or something.anyway, it's a dye that glosses your hair and makes it shiny in between your usual dye jobs.I haven't tried it, but it sounds nifty and seems like it was created for people who have the problem you're having, so you might want to check it out.
John Freida sheer blond or whatever hair color you have it worked for me!
I feed my dog raw eggs to give her a shiny coat. Maybe that would work for you?
There are new products on the market or that you can get in a salon. Its a gloss treatment. It applies similar to color but only adds a shine to the hair. Also use a hot oil treatment weekly and load up on Vitamins and Biotin. Try to take it easy with the highlighting.
There is conditioner for dyed and permed hair, get that..and weirdly you wet the hair and put it in and sit in your room. Yes. leave it in, then get a shower (the extra time helps revitalize the dried hair). Then switch to a shampoo plus conditioner and still use the extra conditioner as you would normally. I have killer soft hair.it works
try herbal esscense conditioner.works wonders.for shiny hair after you shower.step out turn the cold water on full blast and run it over your hair, sounds brutal but youll see the difference
either get you a tub of wella chlorestrol hair conditioner, or after washing it pack it down with hellmons mayonaise & a hot towl around your head for the night ,,,rinse well in the mornin, works purdy good & cheap !!good luck!
I have the same problem and here are some of the things I do to remedy it. Do NOT shampoo your hair every single day - unless your hair is over oily, which it does not sound like, you can go at least two days without shampooing. I usually use shampoo twice a week. And find a shampoo made for dry/damaged hair. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Bed Head's Dumb Blonde Shampoo. As for conditioner: YOU CAN'T USE TOO MUCH! I constantly alternate combinations of the conditioners I use. My two favorites are Bed Head Self-Absorbed (packed with vitamins) and Bed Head Moisture Maniac. I also use Catwalk Honey & Oatmeal Conditioner, Bed Head Control Freak (it's my least favorite) and Aussie 3-Minute Miracle. Twice a week, at night, I slater it in Bed Head Dumb Blonde Hair Masque and sleep with it in. Once a week, and this sounds insane but works great, I coat it in extra virgin olive oil, wrap it in one of those terrycloth turban-type things and sleep with it like that. If you use olive oil, you will have to wash it the next day.

As for when it's dry and after you've done whatever you do to it, there's a product called Bed Head Headrush that is fabulous. It's a shine spray so it adds a ton of shine and helps the texture out a lot. But if you use a lot of hairspray on your hair, do the Headrush first as it will break down the hairspray's hold if sprayed on after hairspray (not sure why but it does).

I know it sounds like I'm plugging Bed Head products but that's the line of products I've found to be the best for me. They are kind of expensive but you can find them on eBay for crazy cheap. If you take nothing else away from this, go buy some Dumb Blonde Masque. It's made especially for highlighted hair and it's a reconstructor, not just a conditioner.

Hope that helps and good luck! I know how frustrating dry, icky-looking hair can be. One more thing: chill on the highlights for a while because everytime you put bleach on already damaged hair, it just makes it worse. I know, that's a lot easier said than done!
I used to highlight my hair, and it became FRIED! I tried so many things, and the thing that worked the best for me was Frederic Fekkai's Glossing Cream. I get mine from www.sephora.com. I put it in my damp hair, and then again after it's blow-dried. Just make sure not to use too much, or your hair can get greasy. It really helps to get the frizzies out, and makes it incredibly shiny. If you have a Sephora store near you, you can buy a small tube of it so you can try it out, and see if it works for you.

Also, conditioner is VERY important. It helps if you leave it in for a few minutes, instead of rinsing it out right away.
There are different types of "conditioner" to do different kinds of things depending on what your hair needs. If your hair is breaking off and seems brittle when you comb it, it needs protein to help strengthen it. If it has a very dry feeling it needs moisture. If your hair is in need of major repair, you want to look for something that is a deep "re-conditioner" or deep "reconstructor". Those products are broken down molecularly small enough to where they can actually absorb into the hair shaft and take care of the brittleness and dryness.

The next thing you want to do is use good professional products that are designed for color-treated hair. Highlighted and colored hair need TLC. Products that are designed for that type of hair have what your hair needs.
This will help with the porosity of your hair. Less porous = shinier hair.more porosity = dull hair. The outside of your hair strand looks like shingles on a roof. When those shingles are raised (porous hair from chemical/mechanical damage) they don't reflect light. When those shingles are laying smooth and tight, they reflect light and give you that shiny gorgeous hair. Some people's hair type can naturally be shinier than others. If your hair is courser, or has natural curl/wave to it, it tends to not shine like someone who has finer hair.

Since everyone wants shine, manufacturers are producing shine products that work really well. Paul Mitchell has Gloss Drops, Nioxin has Pure Shine Gel, Kenra has a Reflect Shine, Logics has Shine FX. I could go on and on. They are all wonderful shiner products that help reflect light off of the hair shaft.

Once you take care of the basics and are using shampoo/conditioner/reconstruc. that are recommended for your hair type/situation and get it in optimal condition, the shine should follow. If you are wanting more intense shine you'd probably love some of the shine enhancing products I mentioned previously. The shine products are also great while you're trying to get your hair in shape, because it will make it look shiny and healthier even though it might yet not be "up to snuff"!

Another tip, make sure when you get your highlights that the stylist isn't pulling the color or bleach clear to the ends and re-coloring/bleaching those previously lightened ends. That will dry out and fry hair quicker than anything!

Try buying biosilk at a salon or grocery store like Winn Dixie.
Just a little dab smoothed through the hair makes it look smoother and much healthier and its not greasy.
go to your local salon and ask about getting a graze applied. Its a clear color process. It locks down the cuticle and creates amazing shine. PM shines has a nice one out that lasts about 6-8weeks depending on how ofter you wash your hair. Its very healthy and safe for your hair and it truly is amazing. And most salons do this at a reasonable rate, between $25-$35.

Try Frédéric Fekkai's Technician Color Care Mask ($34). I got mine at Sephora, and it made a huge difference. It was smoother, and a lot of the shine came back. My sister got a really great sample of the Phyto Phytokarite Hair Treatment Mask With Shea Butter ($36 for the reg), and it put a lot of moisture back into my hair when I tried it. GOod luck! :D

Try salon brand conditioners. But be sure to switch them up often with different kinds, your hair will get use to the same conditioner and they wont work as good when over used.
Also try shine sprays, when my hair is dry and dull, i work a shine spray or serum into my hair....amazing.
Also after getting your hair *did*, condition your hair and leave it in for 20-30 minutes, it will repair the damage. And you can continue to do that every.week or whatever u choose! Good luck!
do a hair treatment at least 3 times a month, have it done professionally at a salon, trust me, u'll see better results with in a month
dont burn it with a blow waver or straightener or curling iron. get pureology shampoos and conditioners. its kind of a splurge but its soooo worth it!

gurl use maynaise leave it in for 20 or 30 minutes.. it works real good.. it makes ya hair stronger, shinier, and healthier, and it takes out split end

IF YOU GOT HIGHLIGHTS THEN YOU YOU NEED TO FIND A GOOD CONDITIONER AT SALLY'S.
I get this bottle at cost cutters where I live can't remember the name but it is a white bottle with a gray top and I use it after I take a shower and leave it on and makes my hair shiny and it doesn't make it so dry.
