Try Almay for brown eyes, the shadow is a purple and brown, I wasn't really into much color usually brown tones, but i get many compliments with that eye shadow combo!
just about any darker shade of cover girl will go well with that complextion, plus they are affordable. the kind people at Walgreens or your local pharmacy will be able to help out.

i am about the same as you- skin and hair tones and i tend to use natural tones and pinks. but then i don;t use it often nough to notice that it looks bad. but if you went to the people who sell make up they could probably give you some hints

i would say colors that wouldn't show up very well on people with fair skin. i have fair skin and blue eyes and dark hair, and i use colors such as darker pinks, purple, gold-brownish pink, etc. darker colors cause they show up better on my skin tone and really make my eyes pop. you should try something with a gold tone or lighter pinks and depending on what eye color you have, find a color that makes your eyes pop. Browns, pinks, purple make my blue eyes pop out.
