recover time to go back to work after roux-en-y bariatric surgery?!

Question:
Answers:
unless you'll die of obesity shortly, DON'T get that surgery. I've come across many people who spend a whole year in the hospital b/c of problems afterwards. some don't come off the ventilator they're placed on during surgery, others rupture their bowel (life-threatening, by the way).
you'll have most likely malabsorption, vitamin deficiencies, chronic diarrhea and vomiting. so, depending on what kind of job you do, they'll have to be very forgiving.
regardless whether you get the surgery or not, you'll have to change your life //radically//.. afterwards only spoonful portions.. might as well do it without being forced to.

There are two forms of roux-en-y bariatric surgeries.
Did you get:
A. Division of the two sections
(or, more drastically)
B. Reduction from division of two sections (allowing 2 qts) to a more drastic 2 ounces?

Did you have an open, or laparoscopic procedure?
