Stiff, painful muscles in arm. tendonitis?!

Question: my gf types a lot, and started doing yoga this week which she though would help with muscle soreness but made it worse. the muscles on the bottom of her forearm are rock hard, stiff, and painful. i always thought this type of condition was tendonitis, but i did some reading and it doesnt sound like tendonitis. anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong? she's just icing them right now, taking a couple days off and keeping her arms in a wrist brace.
