Have you tried rinsing in very cold water, using a very good conditioner and using your dryer on low? I know it will take longer to dry but it seems to cause less damage.
Any AFTER STYLEing wax or serum will help you GREATLY. the product serves as a barier between electrons. my favorite products are Redken Straight Edge, Vinyl Glam, and Glass.. there are also other mimic products that can do a similar job.
