What are some at home methods or medicines that will help with a pinched nerve?!

Question: My friend has a pinched nerve, or so that's the doctor's theory. He has pain in his left butt cheek and it cramps up often, usually being worse in the morning. Pain medicine doesn't seem to make a difference. He's usually a pain when it comes to going to the doctor and is putting off his MRI that he needs. Any suggestions for at home remedies or something to help with the pain? Thanks! :)

Make sure he keeps moving as much as possible. I just pinched a nerve in my back, and after three days of babying it, I had shoulder lock already! Best thing to do is just make sure to gently stretch, take nice hot showers to loosen everything, and as long as there's no problem with allergies, try naproxin (aleve). I was put on a high dosage of that and my shoulder feels fine now.

Stretching &/or massage. I had a pinched nerve in my back & that was the only way I was able to get rid of it.
