first of all, the liver does not get stones.
the kidney does, but the symptoms of a kidney stone are significantly different from those of a stone in the gall bladder. not all stones are created equal.
and yes, you can still get gallstones even if the gall bladder is removed. the bile ducts, that connect your liver (which produces the bile) to your gut (where it's used) are still subject to sludging and, therefore, to stones.
