I need diet help.?!


Question: I'm 5'1'' and i weigh about 180 lbs.
Has anyone else in the past with about the same weigth and height done anything and seen great result?

I want to get down to 140.
Then to 120.
Help!!

bathing suit season is right around the corner.

Well the good thing is you are 16 so you have a much greater chance of losing it quickly than say someone who is around 30 or older. Go slowly, or else you'll gain it right back. First start changing your diet-think about what you are eating and read the labels and if it has over 2 grams of fat, eat something else. Find a fruit or lowfat snack you really like and stick to that in between meals. Eat three meals a day, your morning one having the most fat content, and your dinner the least fattening, since you'll have less time left in the day to burn it off.

Eat lots of fiber, almost no sugar, stay away from bread and meat. Drink a lot of liquid, try coffee in the morning to speed up your metabolism, even throughout the day if you like it. But don't put sugar in your coffee or anything else for that matter. Put Splenda in it instead. This way your sugar intake will be miniscule. Change your diet first, and THEN start an exercise routine. If you do both at the same time, you'll be burned out. The best way to diet is to make a plan, write it down, then buy it, keep the snacks handy, and STICK TO IT. YOu can email me if you need someone to help keep you on track. i know what i did, i worked out day by day and i stop eating alot of food and started eating good food
go throw like 2 diets and see what one works better for you then keep going on that dietg until you reach you point

first of all don't rush it because it can come on just as fast.

there are no safe fast ways of doing it. you need to exercise with light weights and lots of reps. do not rest in between sets, instead work another muscle to keep your heart rate up. this way you get your cardio and build lean muscle mass which in turn will help you burn fat even at rest.

get lots of sleep and eat well. 6 small meals a day not 3 big ones. your metabolism will spped up because your stomach is always working. don't eat anything after dinner.
get a healthy diet but the main thing is to drink plenty of water. Drink at least one gallon of water a day.

I know it's the same thing you hear everywhere but eating right and exercise is the best way. I have always fought with my weight then after I had my baby it was even worse. I have been working really hard at it and I have managed to lose 30 pounds in 3 months. Also you don't want to lose to fast because your skin will still be stretched out and it won't be able to shrink with the weight you lose. Good luck!
Talk to your doctor. You are at an age where your body is going through a lot of changes. A healthy diet and regular exercise if fine, but drastic changes or dieting methods can have major effects on your body. This year, just tell yourself that you are in the process of change and will never see this body again. Then, start living healthy and enjoy your summer.
I would advise a personnal trainer to give you the right excersize regimen and give you some diet advise. If you can't afford one go to your doctor and maybe they can refer you to a nutritionist. It's hard to do it on your own. Try to stay away from junk food as much as possible and soft drinks. Drink lots of water or natural juice instead. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Good Luck!
you are only 16 that just basically baby fat, well this might help make sure you atleast walk for an hour everyday dont eat too much junk food for breakfast you should eat fruits and yogurts okay then for lunch salad or tuna sandwich or you can eat a good meal for lunch and just eat salad for dinner you dont want to eat really late at night thats when fat start attacking okay and most important thing when your hungry and craving to burgers grab a bottle of water and start drinking. drink lots and lots of water and eat alot of oranges trust me it will work try it I did it and I lost 25 pounds i was 152 now 127 just do a lot of cardio everyday atleast for one hour
Cut wayyyyyyy back on the sodas! They do tons of damage with little to no benefit. If a strict diet is too hard to stay with try changing one meal. Have a Low fat low calorie nutritious breakfast. Yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, etc. And above all read nutrition labels before you eat anything!
Everyone has given you good advice - basically eat less fattening stuff and exercise. But I would add one more thing. Start living healthier NOW! The best thing you have going for you is that you are only 16. Once you get older it will be a LOT harder to have the energy to exercise. Also, your metabolism will slow down, which means it will be much easier for your body to gain weight.

Find/create an exercise a program that fits you - makes sure your vary it from day to day, because doing the same every day makes you bored which makes you not want to exercise. i'm 16 too and i also have a problem with my weight. so i walk 4 miles every night and do set ups and cruches 100 each. and i love salads so i eat a salad everyday for luch and with dinner. there are plenty of low calorie and low sugar food out there you just have to look.
