Is there a known 100% cure for Hep. C?!

Question:
Answers:
To date, there's no 100% effective cure for Hepatitis C. Treatment consist of one of the following regimens:

-Pegasys 180 micrograms subcutaneously weekly; OR
-Peg-Intron 1.5 micrograms subcutaneously weekly.
PLUS:
-Rebetol (ribavirin) 800 to 1,200 mg by mouth daily, divided in two doses (one in the morning, and the other one in the evening)

This regimen is continued for 12 consecutive months if the patient has genotype 1 (about 80% of HepC positive patients has this genotype). For genotypes 2 or 3, the treatment is given for 6 consecutive months (about 13% of patients has genotype 2; the remainder 7% has genotype 3, which is the least aggressive of the three). Cure rates vary from about 50-55% for genotype 1, 60-70% for genotype 2, and 75-85% for genotype 3 (these statistics are approximate).

Sorry ,I really dont think so.
No there is no cure, it is a lifetime disease. Sorry.
There is no cure.
NO WAY. It is a virus and unfortunately once you get a virus you will always have it even though there are medicines to help live with them more comfortably.
Interferon if used early can produce negative test results after treatment depending upon the genotype of the disease.
My husband had hepatitis C and although he suffered greatly with it, after extensive treatment it went into remission. There is no cure. Unfortunately, he drowned but was in remission for 3 years...)(
Hepatitis C is a systemic viral infection that primarily involves the liver. Unfortunately, there is no definitive cure. Most patients, though, are minimally symptomatic or asymptomatic. Treatment usually involves monitoring for liver function and damage with blood tests, monitoring kidney function, and occasionally liver transplant. Inferferon-alfa is very effective for controlling acute infections, but is not a definitive cure. Chronic hepatitis C is often managed with interferon and ribavirin, but again these are not curative medications.

No, just suppressive therapies and preventative medicine.
I think i agree with all the other peoples, there is no cure for Hep C, this is a lifetime disease
There is no cure yet. I have Hep C - inactive. I did Peg-Intron/Rebetol for 12 months and was lucky it went into remission. That was 3 years ago. The treatment was horrific but would I do it again? HELL YES! I was depressed (suicidal) and extremely sick. Two weeks after my treatment ended I was hospitalized with pneumonia, pericarditis and almost died. For 5 months I spent 80% of my time in the hospital. Lost 60 pounds - looked like a skeleton. I went through all the liver transplant work-ups, my liver enzymes weren't really that bad. It was odd. For my final pre-transplant exam I had to have colonoscopy. Felt very strange minutes before the procedure. Arms and legs were cramping bad. Thought it was like a panic attack. Woke up in ICU. Paddles at foot of bed. I was starving to death. Literally. The treatment had totally wrecked havoc on my immune system. And strangely enough - I had developed Celiac Sprue Disease. Which by the way is genetic. Very interesting huh. If you haven't done the treatment - my best advice is to do it. Be monitored both health wise and emotionally very closely. And, good luck!
