hi cathy. I'm grace a nursing student. When your iron counts drop, it will lead to anemia a condition moderate in effect compare to leukemia.. most commonly known as iron-defficiency anemia.. when this insufficient supply of anemia is not treated immediately, this would probably lead to leukemia (cancer of the blood) wherein the leukocytes or the white blood cells will eat the red blood cells through phagocytosis. ---may this little info of mine helps--- God Bless!
