exercise of course
Exercise comfortably and pick it up as u go, and avoid situatuions with tension
First get a "boss". This is someone who you can trust and confide in. Someone who will still be your friend even if you yell at them. You have to be accountable to your boss. You have to check in with your boss regularly and give updates on your physical activity and eating patterns (as well as your emotional state).

Recognize and articulate how the food/laziness addiction works for you. You don't feel good so you eat to feel better, but you gain weight and you feel sorry for yourself so you end up on the couch feeling depressed so you eat some more.

Get rid of mirror/scale fascination! Do NOT use a mirror or scale as a measure of your success. Remember that your goal is health - health is measured best by how you feel. Make sure your boss is making sure that you are keeping your head on straight.

One technique is to download an audio book to your ipod and walk a lot. Or if you have a treadmill/exercise bike get a netflix account with the rule that you can only watch a movie if you are moving. If you start doing this regularly and have the emotional support of a boss, you will feel good about yourself and reverse the cycle!
