What exactly is a hernia and what does it do to you?!

Question:
Answers:
A hernia is a protrusion of a tissue, structure, or part of an organ through the muscular tissue or the membrane by which it is normally contained. The hernia has 3 parts: the orifice through which it herniates, the hernial sac, and its contents. Hernias may present either with pain at the site, a visible or palpable lump, or in some cases by more vague symptoms resulting from pressure on an organ which has become "stuck" in the hernia, sometimes leading to organ dysfunction. Fatty tissue usually enters a hernia first, but it may be followed by or accompanied by an organ.

a hernia is when a part of the digestive system (such as the intestines) protrudes through a hole in your body. it mainly occurs in the navel and scrotum sac for males. it can be painful, and needs surgery to correct. the surgery is quite painless and the recovery time is very quick.
a hernia is a tear in the abdominal muscle that allows the intestine to poke through. it hurts alot.
It makes your BA&&S swell up huge and it"s extremely painful!
My sister has a hernia. This is the definition.

A hernia is the protrusion of an organ or tissue out of the body cavity in which it normally lies. The most common hernias develop in the abdomen, when a weakness in the abdominal wall evolves into a localized hole, or "defect", through which the protrusion occurs.

It causes lots and lots of pain! It can be repaired with surgery.
