Is it ESSENTIAL to sleep AT NIGHT?!

Question: What difference, if any, would it make if the typical/ required number of hours of sleep was achieved on the MORNING instead?
Answers:
It wouldn't make any difference, as long as you got the typical/required number of hours for sleep. The melatonin in our brain tells us that we should sleep at night, because we aren't nocturnal. Some people through force have made themselves to be nocturnal so that they can stay up at night, and sleep during the day.

When people force themselves to sleep during the day, the melatonin that our brains produce that sends us the signal to be sleepy at night, doesn't react.

i use to work nights regular.i went straight to bed. when i got in .i slept better than at night time at weekends.so as long as you sleep it dont matter.
I've found that my body gets messed up if I don't sleep between 2 and 6AM. Essential to sleep @ nite? Probably not if you are totally committed to a new sleep pattern. I bet you could adjust, but might have weird side effects.
It does not really matter when you sleep, as long as your body can adjust to sleeping during the day.
There are people that work the night shift, that never get the chance to sleep at night.
I did it for a while back when I was doing a morning show on the radio. I had to be at the station at 4am, so I usually woke up around 2am. It was not too bad, I got to go home when the show was over at 10am, then I would go to sleep until whenever I would wake up. I did that for 7 years, so it can be done.
Wel as long as u sleep any time its ok coz its the quantity and quality of sleep that matters..not the time..but if u start a pattern do follow it regulrly..or it wud caus havoc if u keep changing ur sleeping schedule
yes sure for our biology clock.
you might get by, but you should sleep when it's dark and be awake when the sun is out. That's the way it was meant to be in nature. You can't try to beat the system without it catching up to do in the end. For example, your pineal gland behind your eye needs sunlight exposure to manufacture melatonin and other neurochemicals that combat depression. You can't fake your way through that. It does make a difference in the long run. Don't believe me, try it, and remember I told you.
