I am looking for a good place to find out the average cost of medical bills. Br!

Question: I have been in the Army and out of the United States for 5 years. I am going back to civilian life and will need health insurance. In making the decision on what type of coverage I need I realized that I have no clue how much routine doctors visits and other such medical expenses cost. I am looking for a place that can give me some kind of estiomates. Thanks for your help.
Answers:
Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina has an online Health Care Cost Estimator that shows inpatient and outpatient approximate costs.

I don't know what state you are in specifically but this could give you a starting point. Obviously, there are other states that are going to be more expensive and some that are going to be less expensive.

Oh, that would be great.. to have something like that but.. it a'int gonna happen. No hospital will give out an itemized estimate.. they would be ashamed for one thing.. to put down one bandaid at $25, etc etc etc. At your army hospital pharmacy. IF YOU KNOW THE GUy.. ask him.. they know much about that sort of thing. That was who I asked(my local SAM's Club Pharmacist who I knew very well)
