What a great question. Addiction by itself does not seem like a logical diagnosis.
It is more a mental problem. Individuals are not mentally able to fight their compulsive behaviors. They are like babies who cannot give up their bottles or their bankie.
However, there are those who are healed and their compulsions are removed.
Smoking was my compulsion for 40 years. Years and years I prayed for God to forgive me for my childish ways and make me stop my compulsion with smoking. Out of the blue, one day, the urge to smoke was gone - along with other compulsive behaviors.Is it demonds, satin, or compulsive behavior?

Addiction is a habit beyond control. It is usually treated with therapy and behavior modification. You can't train yourself to not have a disease, but a habit can be treated that way, so my answer would be that it isn't a disease.

i think it is a "Disease". just lake any other, it must be cured.. though , of course not with medicines. but sometimes when the addiction is uncontrollable and symptoms or complications appear, then medicines are used.
