Why do some drugs like methadone and crystal meth rot people's teeth ? Even with!

Question: There may be different reasons for different substances. For example; I heard methadone goes into your bones. I am not sure about crystal meth (which is a comletely different substance)
Answers:
The teeth rot because you have a dry mouth all the time.

But to really answer your question.
The fast irreversable damage comes from the clenching. Teeth break right down the middle like splitting a log. Because when your high you don't notice the teeth breaking until a few days later. It's possible to break your own teeth by just biting down hard enough. But most of us stop when it start to hurt. I saw a patient drug addict drive his last 3 teeth into his upper maxilla like nails after getting high. all the rest of teeth were stumps.

This question is really for the kids out there.
I think one of the main reasons is that they make you grind your teeth together when you take them, which damages the enamel on the teeth and makes the more vulnerable to damage.
usually well I know with Meth that people don't eat well there for everything is rotting you can only see people teeth imagine the liver and brain. That Sh*t is pure evil.I've seen so much pain it causes.Stay away or stop using if you care about yourself and family.
Crystal Meth is an stimulant, so the mouth stays dry and no vitamins are absorbed, because you don't eat. Also it depends on the way you do it. If smoked the chemicals in it also destroy your teeth. I am in recovery now. I have been free from the devils drug for 3 years. It is not like any drug I had ever tried. It is very addicting and I did stuff that I can't imagine doing now that I am free and clean. If you are involved with this drug in some way or another take it form experience and run to your nearest NA meeting. It does help. The number for the local chapter in your area is in the phone book or visit their web site. Please get help if not for yourself for your family.
There are many reasons meth is damaging to the teeth. First, think about the ingredients in it. The acidity of it is terrible for the teeth when it is smoked. Another thing is that it causes dry mouth. Most people don't realize the benefits of saliva until they don't have it anymore. And I don't know if any meth users have good oral hygiene. I saw a piece on meth mouth last night, and a dental professional said she spoke with one meth user who had not brushed his teeth in seven months! There are several factors that are still being researched. The link below has a couple pictures, but I've seen worse. Some pictures show the teeth as nothing but black nubs poking out of the gums.
