When U press ur Knuckle and It make sound, where is it from?!

Question: Where's the clacking sound come from? And U feel better afterwards? Especially when U twist your waist. Is it dangerous?
Answers:
You have air between the bone and cartilage in your fingers and that's what makes the cracking sound. You really shouldn't crack your knuckles though, it gives you a higher risk of developing arthritis.

You really shouldn't twist your waist. You run the risk of dislocating a hip which isn't a very nice thing to do.

aww..the sound is the knocking of the bones together..or unlocking of them..seems pretty scary isnt it?
my mom is a doctor and the sound is nitrogen bubbles popping.
It's just air, it won't hurt you.
"Cracking" a joint, such as the knuckles, involves putting pressure on the joint until the lubricating fluid between the bones shifts from one side to the other.

It isn't dangerous.
it's actually the muscles that make the noise, the bones don't crack..if they do they are broke! And no it is not dangerous Chiropractors do it all the time. However there is talk that if you crack too much it causes arthritis..
M_benson is correct with it being nitrogen bubbles and my chiropractor also told me that cracking them and causing arthritis is a myth..no truth what-so-ever.
it is the nitrogen answer, and yes it will develop arthritis early. It is different than a chiropractors "cracking" All my knuckles are now thickening and stiffening at a rate that is noticable month by month.
The sound comes from squeezing the air between the joints out. I don't know why it feel good, it just does. Maybe the release of tension from the air inbetween your joints?
