can anyone give me some tips on how to boost my self-esteem?!


Question: i need help. i'm off to a good start, i colored my hair, started dressing up a little, got a decent job, and i'm fixing to go to college. but that just don't seem to be enough. i think maybe some of the reason why is because i am 28 and single. it would be different if i had prospects but i don't. HELP!

You are on the right track so you will be fine :) I was single for years and had come to terms that it was always going to be that way but along came mr right just before my 31st birthday.. you just never know whats around the corner.Maybe join a club.. something you have an interest in .. you will meet new people at your new job and college. Enjoy what u do have and don't worry about what u don;t have or you will never be happy. You are still a spring chicken so don't panic.. things are looking good for you:)

Do some soul searching, esteem comes from the inside. Retail therapy never hurts.
i think in order to boost your self-esteem is to better know yourself?ask the real you some things that could give emphasize to your inner self. have faith to Him. don't give-up searching for the true you!as long as you live you must value life. think positive and learn from the mistakes from the past.

Being single at 28 and having no prospects is kinda alarming. Try going out more and meet a lot of new friends. Good luck
speak in a friendly fashion to others, it will be returned to you. You may need to learn how to flirt, but be sure to practise that in situations you can back out of.

I know been there. My esteem was not good but then i shaped up went to collage got a bachelors, I own my own business and married (an ***) so don't think that's the MAN IS THE answer but have a wonderful 7 yr old son

1. Learn all you can about yourself.
2. Before you do something, think about how it is going to make you view yourself afterwards
3. Forgive others and forgive yourself
4. Practice resisting the things that make you feel bad about yourself, i.e. overeating, being promiscuous, snapping at people, whatever it is.
5. If you expect something from others, expect it from yourself.
6. Think of your values about how to treat others. do you think people should do volunteer work, or help take care of family members, or open doors, or give advice? Whatever things you feel strongly about, do them.
7. Take care of yourself - for YOU. Take vitamins, eat right, get enough sleep, exercise, meditate, and treat yourself every now and then
8. Find your talents and gifts and develop them. do you have a talent for music, singing, writing, giving advice, listening, painting, drawing, gardening. the list is endless
9. Expect respect and acceptance from others and tolerate nothing less - ever.
10. Identify what you want to change and change one thing at a time. If you want to lose weight, go on a sensible diet. If you want to be neater or cleaner, devise a day by day cleaning plan. You get the idea.
11. Identify the negative thoughts you have about yourself and replace them with positive ones. Exmaple - "I'll never be able to do this" is replaced by "I wont give up and I'll eventually succeed". Write down the negatives, and your positive replacements. Carry them with you and whenever you have a negative thought, repeat the positive replacement to yourself a few times. In time, you'll find that your thoughts will change.
