I personally know two people who have had it done and they are all praise about it. and this was 3 years ago. Advancements in technology are being made all the time. So yes in short. Lasik IS very effective. There are a few things you need to make sure about first though
1. Wait until your in your early 20's and your eyes have settled down on one prescription.
2. Get it done by a well known company. Eyes are very precious and it is important you chose a proper qualified surgeon.

It's AWESOME! I had it done several years ago and could see right away. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking into the procedure.
Depends how old you are. If you're in high school, I suggest you wait as your eyes are still changing. It is actually pretty effective and shows little or no side effects. If you do Lasik and your eyes are still adjusting, your "degree" of nearsightedness will increase again. That is not something your doctor will guarantee as it is a risk that you must take in this surgery.
