Question: what happens to a person when s/he is confined to solitued ?
Answers:
I guess it depends upon how sociable the person is and how strong minded and for how long. For an account you could read an Evil cradling by Brian Keenan.
I have a little personal experience of this and was not pschologically stabel and lost a lot of sense of self

Rebellion initially and reconciliation after some time.Depression, melancholy afterwards.
Depression.Meditation will help.
Generally, people tend to feel quite depressed after a long time without any company, and often even suicidal. There was a landmark single case study done some time about it. Sorry, I don't have a reference for it.

There was a young child who was locked in a closet. The door would only open for life's necessities until the boy was about 9-12. He is currently facing charges of statutory rape for sleeping with a 15yr old at the age of 20 something. I forget my sources but I'm sure someone else knows the exact names and numbers.
Point is, solitude leads to a lack of correct social behavior. He doesn't know it's wrong for him to sleep with someone so young.
just be with our loved ones & freak out to the hearts content. & relax. as depession will not help out anything. just remember --- the things will settle down in its own course of time & in its own motion.
