Answers:
best diet and way to lose weight is just to cut out the bad things, snacks, butter, bread, eat three healthy meals a day.

it takes a little longer to lose weight than a diet, but when you lose it fast i.e with dieting and are happy with your body you stop the diet and the weight comes back twice as fast!. it's better to get you body and mind into a system where you just cut out eating the rubbish that is sold in the shops now days.

Other Answers:
have some other bodyparts removed. It surely will reduce weight
consider gastric bypass, it is radical but it will take care of the weight real quick
It's going to take some time for your body to re-balance, after years of smoking and the fact that you've had your thyroid removed.

To help, I suggest you try a "weight-loss system." A new one called STACK has worked for 100% of the people who have used it.

STACK has components to replace meals, cleanse and detox, and nourish the body. No craves, No loss of energy.
