To make your body lose fat you must train continuously for more than 45 minutes. If you train less than that you are using the energy you got from food intake and then you tend to eat more after your exertions. Remember duration is more important than intensity if you want to lose weight.

If you're looking to lose weight, it's a good idea to train first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, as your body will be forced to use body fat as a source of energy, rather than the food you consumed; blood sugar.
You need to eat a hour before you work out so your body has "fuel" for the work out, i can understand the argument that its forced to use body fat but its not going to work like that because your body needs nutriants to fuel your body and restore your muscles and maintain them threw the workout and after the work out. You need to have that fuel in your body to have a good work out, IF you dont have that fuel in your body your not gonig to get a good performance out of your body in the gym period. Go one day with out eating and go one day after eating and try to push the same ammount of weight i will garuntee you will hit the floor a heck of alot easyer with out eating first, trust me on this one i learned that the hard way, I talked to my PT and fitness coach and he explained it to me you would imagine he knows what hes talking about he has a PHD in fitness :)
