anyone been on effexor and risperdal together .. so far I have no real help from!

If you are taking them for depression, it might take 4-8 weeks for a response on an effective dose of an antidepressant. An effective dose for effexor usually starts at 150 mg daily. Risperdal is usally given for either augmentation or if you are having psychotic symptoms, and the response for the later is usually within a week, otherwise your Dr. will need to increase the dose.

Yes I was on both but the risperidal gave me side effects. What are you taking it for? I am Bi-polar and switched to Seroquel and Abilify and Effexor. But again it depends on what you are taking the meds for. Call your doctor about this he/she may want you to try something else. Open communication with your doctor is imperative. Call and tell them your concerns and say that its urgent so you'll get the help you need.
I have been on them both & at the samre time it took about 4 or 5 weeks before I really noticed anything & the docotor had to adjust my dosages as we went along. They helped me.
