I had a large skin graft on the top of my foot. The injury to my foot was very painful.but, i don't think the skingraft was so bad. They took the graft from my upper thigh.it (the donor site) was pretty itchy till it healed. My foot hurt so bad from the injury it is hard to say if the graft added to that pain. It would also depend on how thick the graft is because sometimes it has to be thicker. Mine was real thick cause the injury to my foot cut off the blood supply and the skin and tissue died and had to be removed. This was a long time ago.and maybe outcomes have improved.but i have a very large scar where they took the skin from and also on my foot.

Well, I had a gum graft (soft tissue graft). It didn't hurt during the procedure due to local anesthetic. However, there is some pain after the procedure for about 1 day and doctor prescribes Vicodin.
