are prescription anxiety pills the way to go if the anxiety doesn't seem to be g!

Prescription pills can help many people.

But since you're asking on an alternative medicine website, I suppose you're asking for alternatives.

I'd suggest natural remedies first. In my opinion, plants are less harmful to the body than concentrated synthesized chemicals.

I would suggest first taking one St John's Wort pill in the morning after breakfast and one at night before bed. Keep a journal of how you feel, for an objective, precise observation of how it is affecting you. (All medicines, both natural and chemical affect every person a little differently.) Give it a week or two to build up in your system, and see how you feel. Then either drop down to one tablet a day, or try the same regimen with something stronger: kava kava or Valerian Root.

Just stay away from Kava Kava if you have a personal or family history of liver disorder.

The St. John's Wort worked wonders for my brother, and I had great success with Valarian root. My husband uses Kava Kava as needed to destress from a high-pressure job.

And natural remedies pose a MUCH smaller risk of dependancy than most prescribtion medicines.

Above all, get those anxious thoughts out of your head. Talk to someone you can trust, or journal your thoughts. You'd be suprised how thoughts stop repeating in your head once you give voice to them. If you know you're suffering with anxiety, then you are self-aware enough to help yourself through this.

YES. Anxiety can cause health problems like high blood preasure so please see a doctor
It depends on the case. I highly recommend finding a good therapist/psychologist/psychia. and working with him or her. The doctor will be able to tell you if the case really truly warrents medication - and will be able to work with the patient in order to get to the root of the anxiety problem.
I would try to learn some calming techniques before turning to anti-anxiety medication. There are certain kinds of therapists that specialize in this field. Anti-anxiety medications are pharmaceuticals that are very strong sedatives. I used to take some and I couldn't function for hours afterwards.
I was given anti anxiey medicine, but the way that they make you feel is odd. I try to just deal with the situations when I am faced with them
Try St Johns Wort and camomile tea to calm you.
i would say that looking into medication would be ok. usually anxiety is triggered by only certain situations. if you can be in those situations, and be ok, while on medication, then the next time you are there you will know that you can be ok there, so perhaps you wont have an attack, even without the med. ativan, xanax, zoloft, or paxil are the most commonly prescribed for anxiety. panic or anxiety attacks have never actually harmed anyone, just living everyday like that would get hard. i would at least talk to someone about it if other stress reducers arent working. try avoiding caffiene, tobacco, get enough sleep, and try not to be stressed.
Anxiety pills will help relieve the symptoms, but sometimes people need increasingly higher doses for them to work. I think an even better way to help anxiety is to start going to dance or art classes every week.
