Why does medicine taste so horrible?!

I have to disagree and say exactly the opposite. It mostly likely tastes bad because it is bad for you! the medicine I've tasted is usually bitter mixed with some sweet flavouring to try to disguise the taste. Bitter & Sour = acidic nature. Some acidic things are good for you (ie. citrus, apple cider vinegar) as they turn alkaline in your system. Although I don't know for sure, I highly doubt medicines are in this category.
