Eating one meal a day.healthy or not?!

Question: I have only been eating once a day for a week now--I'm not overweight any, I'm actually average.but I have a fear of gaining weight. I have lost weight being on this diet.I was curious if it's healthy or not, and what the "good and bad" of this diet are.
Answers:
Think of your body like a furnace. The more wood or coal you put in the hotter it burns. Just as your body reacts. The more nutrition it recieves the faster the metabolism will run or the calories it will burn. Five to six meals per day starting with a small but healthy breakfast like a cup of oatmeal, some fruit and a small juice. Breakfast is THE most important meal of the day. Try not to skip it. Then space out over the course of the day four or five meals consisting of good protein, complex carbs with low to moderate fat intake. Eat clean. Keep the meals smaller in portion but remember to eat to keep the fire burning.

anorexia is a disease.
good=none
bad=forcing your body into starvation mode and eventually gaining weight. depriving your body of necessary nutrients.
Probably unhealthy. The layout & structure of the human digestive system in fact suggest we should be "browsers", eating little and often.
Not healthy! yopu should eat 6 very small meals a day. Thats how I lost weight even though I wasn't over weight and thats how I keep it off
ITS NOT GOOD. IT WILL BE BETTER IF YOU EAT 3 TIMES BUT SMALL PORTIONS.
NOT! eat mor now! anorexia is a desease AND.it makes you bigger! this is because the cells swell to get nutrition, which is impossible when you don't eat enough.
It's not healthy. Eat 3 times a day but in portions. Eat a lot of fruits and veggies.
eating 1 meal a day is very bad u have to eat 2 or 3 i eat 3 times a day and iam skinny eat 1once in the morning then lunch and then dinner but eat more then 1 day
Actually, ironically, did you know that if you eat too little, there comes a point where your body stops losing fat. It chews up your muscle. ANd in most cases, you actually get to a point where your body refuses to lose any weight (because, no, it's not healthy) But I DO know what you're talking about. Learn to love yourself where you are. Worry more about being HEALTHY than being SMALL. It might take a long, long time, but it will be worth it in the end. Good luck!
its not good..if you don't want to gain any weight just eat small portions and exercise
dont do that. Please, I have a friend who did things like that. She became sick, she couldnt do sports for almost a year because she didnt have the body sugars and other essentials to do physical activity.
Plus, eating is fine as long as you run and do other stuff to work it off. not to excess in the food or exercise catagory.
Definitely not!
Your body will assume "starvation mode" and begin to store any nutrients as fat. Eventually, after cannibalising your muscles for nutrients, it (your body) will begin to slowly shut down. You need to consume your target calorie intake throughout the day. Grazing is good.
It is NOT healthy at all. Atleast eat 3 meals a day.
you loose weigh b/c your body is not ready for so much food at one time. After a while, you will begin building fat to last through the day.
Eating only once per day slows down your metabolism. It's counterproductive. I've seen fat people who eat only once per day.
To maintain a normal level of energy, food must be consumed at three different periods of the day.
I had the same question, but I don’t do this intentionally (having one or two meal a day). I normally try to drink some milk in the morning and I go to the gym at lunch. By the time I notice that I am hungry, is already dinner time. I am not losing weight, but I am also not gaining. I agree that we should eat small potions and more often, but some of us just don’t find the time to plan ahead (prepare our own healthy meals and storage can be an issue). To answer the question, no is not healthy to eat only once a day, but how bad is it compare to eating what our fast food restaurants are offering to us?
