Period after conceiving?!

Question: Two and a half weeks ago my wife and I tried to conceive and we were pretty sure she was pregnant. Now, she just started having her period. Is that an accurate indicator that she is not pregnant? I ask because she says her mom had her period even after she conceived her first child.
Answers:
Did she take a test? If the test said that your wife is pregnant then she more than likely is. A couple of my friends had their period up to six and seven months when they were pregnant. One of the females didn't even know she was pregnant because she was having regular periods as if nothing was happening. She found out when she was six months during a regular check up. The other female was pregnant with twins and still bled. It is common to bleed if you are pregnant. I would suggest that she goes to her doctor and take his/her test because those tests are more accurately than the home kits.

Other Answers:
If the period is regular and not just spotting and no other symptoms, then she is not pregnant.

Sometimes women have their periods all thru their pregnancies. It does happen, but is rare. I would wait another month, then if she starts having symptoms, then go see your doctor to find out. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. Chances are if she has another period, then she is NOT pregnant.
EPT..
I just had a argument with a guy over this. Yes some women may have "periods" which is more like spotting during pregnancy but since a period coincides with a monthly ovulation, you would not expect the bleeding to adhere to a monthly schedule like a period. Plus most women know their bodies. After I had gone thru 3 overnights in 1 day, it was unlikely I could be pregnant-too much tissue shed!
My mom has a cousin who had a period her entire pregnancy. She was already a large woman so she didn't notice any dramatic weight gain. She didn't know she was pregnant untill she started having "fake labor" about three months before her baby was born. Her baby was healthy too. A lot of people have said this isn't possible but my mom, and her cousin, swear it happened. Oh, by the way, Congrats for when it does happen!
Have her take a blood or urinal pregnancy test. That should show accurately if she is pregnant or not. If she is then consult her genachologist immediately, this condition may be quite danderous for the baby, she is bleeding.
