Do you have to get get your wisdom teeth removed?!

Question:
Answers:
If your wisdom teeth are unable to fully erupt, then yes, it is best to have them removed. If they are partially impacted then food and bacteria will eventually caused them to become infected causing pain because you are not able to clean them properly. Even if they are fully impacted, it is still best to have them removed because they are pushing your against your other teeth which will cause problems later down the road for those other teeth.

Other Answers:
sorry, yes
I hope not. I'm 18 and I still haven't had any trouble with mine, but most people have to have them cut out because they mess up the alignment of their teeth or they hurt really bad.
only if they are going to screw with your other teeth when or if they come in.
no, only if they are going to be detrimental to your oral health. i got mine pulled, and i enjoyed the experince thanks to laughing gas
I was told by my dentist yes because they can get impacted and really do damage on your gums and that can really hurt. May end up getting an oral infection. I was told this was the reason why I had to get 2 of mines pull out. Hurts like Hell.
Only if they are bothering you.

Many Americans have gone through expensive orthodontia, and don't want their wisdom teeth to crowd their adult teeth and mess up how straight they are.

Other Americans have wisdom teeth that come up through the gums and then become infected.

If you don't have either problem, don't worry about having them removed.
if they cause you a problem get them all yanked
Only if the crown is tilted inwards and pushing up on another teeth.
No do do not I am 58 years old and I have never had them taken out ---- it all depends how they grow in

My wife did not have hers out until she was 22
Only if they become impacted, which happens to probably 6 out of 10 people. I was lucky, mine never came through on the bottom, and I learnt through Dental X-Rays Years ago that I don't have any on top.
No not necessarily. If you have them grow in straight and there is room, you do not have to have them removed. However if they hit other teeth (impacted) or if they do not properly erupt due to lack of space, they are removed to prevent damage to other teeth and to prevent future decay (they are hard to brush). The younger you are when it is done, the better due to complications in older age.
they told me mine would never fully grow in..but i dont think i have to get them pulled! But everyone i know has them out.
You might have to get get your wisdom teeth removed if they become a problem. Not everyone has a problem with wisdom teeth although it is very common.

Why do you ask?

Personal experience.
i havent gotten mine removed
ya, well most people do, some people don't
Only if they are crowded--some people's mouths have room for them, some do not.
no u dont have to get them removed unless the dentist tells u otherwise1
My mom didn't get hers removed when she was 18 and when she was about 35 they started pushing into her jawbone and the surgery she had to have was A LOT more painful then just getting them removed. I would get them out just to be on the safe side.
Dental Assistant: If the tooth have erupted straight, and are causing no pain/discomfort, some dentists will simply leave them. Unfortunately, most people are not that blessed. See your dentist for the best recommendation based on your dental health.
I am getting mine out next week. I don't want to but I was told by the Dentist, (who may just want my money) that in my case, my two wisdom teeth are fully impacted and are pushing up against my two back molar which could potentially cause a problem. I was also told that becuase skin or gum does not grow on bone, that there are little air pockets down there that is creating a heaven for little bacteria which could also lead to potential problem. Plus I think that it is the over growth of bacteria that cause halatosis. So I think that it would be a good idea to have them removed.
no you don't if they come in right, but for most people they don't so they have to get them removed. If you don't make sure you get regualr dental exams becase they can cause problems you don't know about untill they get really bad.
I am 34 and still have mine. my teeth are a little crowded but I still have all of my teeth.
total denist scam.
many people don't need this seriously painful surgery but get it anyway bc their dentist told them "there MAY be a problem." DON'T FALL FOR IT! D*MN THE MAN and ROCK THE VOTE! seriously, it's painful and usually best to just keep the suckers.
It depends on what's involved with your other teeth. I had three of them removed and the fourth one did not have to be removed because it was not coming up and had a nerve wrapped around it. It is 30 years later and it never did have to be removed. I had a friend who lost a tooth and one of the wisdom tooth replaced it. For most people they're not in the right place and have to be removed. I think it's genetic drift that has made our jaws smaller than earlier man. You have one side of the mouth done one time so you have a side to sleep on and eat on and the other side done after the first side heals.
yes or else your gums will start hurting badly.
