Could I be allergic to the dirt in my potted plants?!

Question:
Answers:
Possible. because you will find fungi, pollen, spores, fertilzer and the like in fresh and used potting soil.
Remember that potting soil today is most likely ground up wood, bark, dirt, vermiculite etc.
You could sterilize the soil and reduce allergens, but you would still have to go back and enrich.
In the not to distant past commercial potting mixtures were sold as peat moss, but today it is more correctly named potting soil.
It is a pretty good medium for your plants, but will harbor the allergens and house plant pests.

Other Answers:
Theres a better chance its the plant and not the dirt.
If you really want to know, you should get an allergy test done. That will tell you exactly what you are allergic to.
no, obviously you'll get immuned.
