My personal opinion is that the quality of our health care would decline sharply. Instead of the market setting prices, the government would set prices (probably much lower than they currently are). Doctors and providers would then be motivated to provide care (or better care) to those with cash resources.

that would be wonderful for people who are on a fixed in come but dont quilify for assistance from the governemt (such as welfare.) But in order to that we would need to get out of the huge debt we are in . which isnt gonna happen in this admistration, that we currently have

It would be nice. That was the original idea for Medicare, but they didn't think they could get it through Congress, so they trimmed it to Senior citizens.
It will never happen any longer because big medical corps and pharmaceutical companies make big $$$ the way things are . and they don't want it to change. Since they donate big $$$ to the political parties, it won't happen.
