yes you will eventually get large bulky knuckles

yeah it is, cause then your going 2 have big knuckles n u might have big finger n that will lead to not finding cute rings in your size

I started cracking my knuckles at a very young age, and did it dozens of times a day for decades. My parents and grandparents hated it and alaways told me it is very bad. I can had no ill affects whatsoever.

not just swell up temporally the actual knuckle bone will be way out of proportion

You could get arthritis and your fingers will swell up.

Yes, it can cause arthritus and carpel tunnel syndrome later in life, both are painful

I used to do it a lot and my knuckles started hurting real bad like arthritis, I was only 15 maybe at the time. I stopped doing it any knuckle pain stopped. So yes, it does cause pain and it is bad for you!

Cracking Down on Knuckles

You've all heard the story that cracking your knuckles will cause arthritis. Maybe your mom can't stand that "popping" noise and that's why she tells you knuckle cracking will damage your finger joints. Kidzworld did some digging around to find out what makes that "popping" noise and if it causes arthritis. Here's what we found out.

The Real Deal on Cracking Your Kuckles
What's really happening when you "crack" your knuckles is that you are either pushing the joint back into or out of its normal position. Joints are the meeting points of two separate bones which are held together by connecting tissues and ligaments. A thick, clear lubricant (made mostly of carbon dioxide and some nitrogen) called synovial fluid is found between the bones. When you stretch or pull your finger to get that desired popping noise, you are causing the bones to pull apart. Pressure is reduced on the synovial fluid and bubbles form that quickly expand and then burst - which is why you get that noise.

Does Knuckle Cracking Lead to Arthritis?
Not everybody's joints crack. Some people have a larger separation between the bones and some people can't relax enough to allow the bones to separate. If you can crack and your mom tells you, you're going to get arthritis, she's just yanking your chain. There is no scientific evidence that cracking your knuckles leads to arthritis. However, it can't be good to repeatedly push a joint beyond its normal physical range. Besides that, it's annoying. Cracking your knuckles can cause a decrease in your grip but unless you're signing any multi-million dollar contracts as a pitcher, it's not worth giving up. But it's still annoying.

Oh Yes

WELL.. In a lot of articles I have read, there is a lot of disagreement on the issue between othopedics.most say it doesn't cause any harm. So keep on poppin!

people use to believe it was but recent studies have shown that it's actually good for themas it lets the blood flow more freely. By the way, I've been cracking my knuckles since I was little, they're not fat or arthritis riddled.

yes, there's a great probability taht you'll develop arthitis as you grow older (a very painful dissease of the articulations).

Try to avoid doing so.

A lot of people say that knuckle cracking can lead to Arthritis. There
is simply no evidence to support this view. In fact a simple random
search using any search engine with the term " Cracking Kunckles" will
turn up with half a dozen front page hits saying that Kunckle Cracking
will NOT lead to Arthritis. Actually sometimes it is beneficial.

no it really won't hurt you.. it's an old wives tale..just like many other ones.. I still don't know anyone who went blind from.lol..

yes u can get osteoporosis which is a disease in which the bones become extremely porous, are subject to fracture, and heal slowly. so i wouldnt crack my knuckles all the time if i were u!

yes, the cracking sound you hear is the forcing of air around the ligaments out. when you force it, instead of letting it happen natural, it causes the tendon to weaken and u have bone against bone. that air is there for a reason, to cushion joints and ligmnts. it is true, as you age you can develop arthritis. i know, becuz my stupid sister takes medication 4 it now and the rest of her life.
SO STOP!

They used to say it can cause arthritis. But that is not so.
As a matter of fact , if you do it a lot it will lubricate your joints and make you more flexible.
