It's very hard to treat, It's the shot gun approach I'm afraid. There is a very good Department at Stanford university with pretty good success.
since you will go from Dr. to Dr. anyway, you should call them up first to avoid the run around. Since its a neurological disorder it's hard to pinpoint the exact spot that generates the pain.

I have a patient who had suffered from it for 20 years, been everywhere. Like 10 dentists, UCSF, Stanford, He had radiation, drugs, and so on. He would sit in the chair and you could just see the pain come in like a hell fire missle just went off in his head, Then as suddenly as it started it would go away. He always said hurts so bad, But feels so good when it goes away, like being born and taking your first breath. One day he came in and I noticed he didn't have an episode for like 60 minutes. His Doctor at Stanford finally cured him haden't had his trigeminal neuralia for 1 year and a half now.

Good Luck.

I have heard that some seizure medications help with the pain. I am not sure you can "cure" TN. Ask your dr and see what they recommend.
