I use to have color contacts and wore them for about six years without any problems. I know others who wear them and have never heard of anything bad about them.

Where ever you heard that it is only true about one type of contacts.They are called lique-color.Don't use those and you are peachy keen.
My son who is 14 uses colored contacts and he does not have any problems with them. Believe me, if he did, I would hear about it.

If you're experiencing burning with your contacts in, take them out and go see your eye doctor ASAP. There are many possible reasons that you're experiencing this, but it is not because of the dye in the lenses. You may actually have an allergy to part of your contact lens care system or an infection.
I would say go to an eye doctor to make shure they are the right size as your eye. Not off the internet without knowing the size.
