Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?!

Question:

Answers:
A blind person might trust you to drive him/her to the ATM - might even trust that person to count the money but maybe the sighted person would rather not have the responsibility of the blind person's PIN.

Other Answers:
4 blind people

Because all ATMs have the same keypads.

For seeing eye dogs that can drive

It's cheaper than recasting a new set of keys just so they'll be immune to the stinging barbs of office comedians.

Perhaps you're assuming that any person who can drive can see? This is not always the case; a person may be able to see to drive, but not see things clearly up close. Also, do not make the mistake of thinking that the driver is necessarily the one making a drive through transaction. The driver may be able to see just fine, but the person using the keypad may be blind.

Excellent question. They are there to clean your fingernails on while you wait.

It is part of the American With Disabilities Act. You will see some "silly" stuff like that everywhere. Like a previous answer it is cheaper to use one type for all machines.

Disclaimer: No intentions to knock the ADA.

It's the way all ATM's are created. A drive up ATM machine is the exact same as one you will find on the street.
