How can I control my emotional eating?!

Question:
I have been working out 3 times a week for 2 1/2 months while trying to stay under 2000 calories a day and I'm not losing much weight because I even find it difficult to stick to less than 2000 calories a day. What can I do?

you don't need to count calories, eat what you like, but in MODERATION. as you said u exercise, regularly, so it shouldn't be a problem, just avoid fatty food and eat loads of vegetables.

Every body is different and therefore responds to different things. You probably don't see a noticable difference in your weight because muscle weighs more than fat. You may be losing fat, but you are gaining muscle by working out, and therefore remaining at a steady weight. As for finding it difficult to stay below 2000 calories, you should think about your diet and how to eat more efficiently. For example, you could be wasting 300 calories on a bagel for breakfast when you could be using those calories by eating more of something with less calories, like fruit or whole wheat toast. That way, you are getting the same amount of calories you would have eaten with that one bagel, but now you can feel fuller because you can eat more.

Remember, everyone is different and these are things that worked for me. Happy eating!

Start by eating a light breakfast in the morning and for lunch eat fruits, veggies, yogurt, or oats to keep you full. Then before dinner work out. And also drink plenty of water.

My suggestion is like others, to fill up on lower calorie foods. Substitute low-fat milk, yogurt, cheese etc. for regular. Also, vegetables can be your best friend. If, for example, you're eating a salad, make sure it is mainly fresh, raw vegetables, instead of a lot of meat, cheese, dressing, etc. Also, eat a sensible portion, then wait 20 minutes. A lot of us eat, and eat and eat before our bodies even sense that we are full. Drink a lot of water as well. Something I found that helped me is to buy Lean Cuisine meals. Most of them are pretty good, and that way your portions are already controlled for you---just don't go back and eat a second one ;) Good luck with your goals. Also, remember it is your overall health that matters. So you are getting healthy and the weight will come off in time.
