chest pain..?!

Question:
i have a sharp pain on my chest for two days already..and i always feel breathless..do i have heart problems?..
Answers:
CHEST PAIN IS NOTHING TO BE QUESTIONED. Never ignore chest pain or shortness of breath. You need to go to an E.R. and get any possible problems ruled out. If they do find that you have had a cardiac event, they will assign a cardiologist, and you need to follow up with him/her upon release. They will tell you when they want to see you.

DO NOT delay in this.
PAY ATTENTION to C.SCHUMACL. Never seek medical help, of any kind, online. This can be dangerous. Only medical professionals with a good knowledge in CARDIOLOGY, should be responding at all. I would never go outside of my medical specialty unless I had the knowledge to do so. Most of these answers are well intentioned. People are trying to help, but they also need to understand why these comments are so important.
Good luck.

I am not a doctor, but I would think that would be a questions that is best suited for a . well. a doctor.

Where in the chest? Age of patient (not always a rule out factor)? What about any colds/pneumonia's lately?

My first suggestion is TAKE AN ASPIRIN! Wait 10 mins if you start to feel better - CALL 911! An Aspirin will tell you unequivically that you are having heart related issues! If you feel less breathless or the pain subsides at all.

Heart Attack - Age 36 - They didn't believe me, sent me home, I took an aspirin and 20 mins later my pain was gone. Doc called me almost 2 hrs AFTER I got home to tell me I was right and there I was off!! PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!

regarding chest pain or any pain felt on the chest. Which part of the chest do u feel the pain? What is the onset of the pain, does it occur all the time or certain time in a day? Does it occur spesifically when u breathe in and/or breathe out? Sometimes, pain occurs in certain part on your chest does not realy come from the chest per se. What about your medical history? etc. You need to see your doctor. There are lots of things to consider.

MBBS student. Consult your phisician.

No one can or should make the call of whether you have heart disease. Not even a medical person would make that DX in this setting.

However, you are displaying two signs that seem to suggest something is wrong. Shortness of breath is the most concerning and my advice as a nurse would be to go the ER (emergency room).

There many conditions that share these symptoms and without further information I would not even hazard a guess.
Get to an ER..

I felt the same so I cut down on my sugar and food intake, drink water, and walk plenty six kilometres of a morning. The more you can walk the better you will be. I don't have any problems now, because I do as much walking as I can. My ambition is to walk the Kokoda Trail. This will really test a person both mentally and physically. The course can take between 6 to 12 days to do, depending on how fit you are.

If it is any comfort heart pain usually does not present as a sharp pain and it typically does not go on-and-on without having some progressiveness of symptoms. Cardiac related pain also is usually worsened with activity or emotional upset, even things like a hot shower or eating can be enough to shunt blood away from the heart and cause more pain - which is typically improved when the stressor ceases. Also risk factors play an important part - smoker, diabetes, hypertension, prior history of heart disease, family history of heart disease, age (over 55), high cholesterol, sedantary lifestyle are some other things to consider.

All of that said, I would never, repeat never use youqa.cn to attempt to diagnose chest pain. It may not be serious but there's still that possibility that it is. Why play the odds? Have a professional evaluate you and treat you if warranted.
