Why are some people Lactose Intolerant?!

Question:

Answers:
Lactose intolerance is the condition in which lactase, an enzyme needed for proper metabolization of lactose (a constituent of milk and other dairy products), is not produced in adulthood.

Without lactase, the lactose in milk remains uncleaved and unabsorbed. Lactose cannot pass easily through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream, so it remains in the intestines. Soon, gut bacteria adapt to the relative abundance of lactose (relative to other sugars like glucose) and switch over to metabolizing lactose.

Other Answers:
They do not have lactase, the enzyme in their stomach to digest lactose. otherwise known as milk sugar. As a result, they get gassy and have upset stomachs.

Because they don't tolerate anybody that isn't just like them.

The thing these other two lovely people who have answered quite correctly forgot is our bodies stop producing lactase after we turn age 6 years or there abouts, hence the reason why most people wind up lactose intolerant at some stage in their life. It all depends on how much dairy you have had throughout your life and how "full" you are. Once you're "full" you're going to produce intolerance symptoms.

Hope this helps you.
